Celebrating 30 Years of STS
On March 15 and 16, the Department of Science and Technology Studies celebrated its 30 year anniversary at the University of Vienna. To honor this joyous occasion we invited the people who accompanied and supported the institute in all its stages of life, from its inception as the “Department of Philosophy of Science and Social Studies of Science” to its current iteration as part of the Faculty of Social Sciences, with its own Extension Curricula, PhD Program, and Master Program, as well as a plethora of ongoing and completed research projects.
Special guests included the founding professor of the Department Helga Nowotny, Alan Irwin, Ruth Müller and Sally Wyatt as invited keynote speakers, as well as Vice Rector Jean-Robert Tyran.
