Kamiel Mobach is a PhD student in the project "Making Europe through and for its research infrastructures" (METAFORIS) at the Department of Science and Technology Studies. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in ‘Liberal Arts and Sciences’, with a major in physics, at the University of Amsterdam and the Free University Amsterdam. He holds a master’s degree in ‘History and Philosophy of Science’ from Utrecht University. For his master’s thesis, he used ethnographic methods to study laboratory research into superconductivity.

As part of the METAFORIS team, Kamiel is researching how the establishment and subsequent operation of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) influenced socio-political integration in Europe, and vice-versa.
