Information Event Master STS

06.12.2016 18:30

Are you interested in doing a master’s degree on the relations of science, technology and society? Then you are warmly invited to take part in the information event on "Science-Technology-Society".

Scientific and technological developments play a crucial role in how we live in modern societies, and in how we imagine societal futures. At the same time, social values, political agendas or economic logics influence how scientific research is conducted and technological artifacts are designed.
Science, technology and society are hence inextricably interrelated. This constitutes the object of research of the field of Science and Technology Studies (STS).

The master degree “Science-Technology-Society” offered by the Department of Science and Technology Studies of the University of Vienna provides the opportunity to study this in an interdisciplinary and international setting.

After a presentation of the program director, there will be opportunities for informal interaction with current students of the master programme.

The event will be held in English.
